JOB DESCRIPTION :
Assist water / wastewater operator in maintaining daily operations of water / wastewater plants of the District.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Help or assist operator in daily tasks as directed by the operator or Coordinator of Maintenance.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.
- Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
- Inspect tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
- Receive and complete work orders electronically.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call / stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE : QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge / Skills
- Working knowledge of water / wastewater plants
- Willing attitude and ability to learn
- Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions
- Basic computer skills working with Office 365
