The University Advisement Center performs advanced level academic advisement functions such as facilitating academic program development, advisement, interpretation and implementation of university policies and procedures.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Evaluates and advises on academic programs and progress of students.
- Coordinates and communicates with faculty on academic program changes or updates.
- Assesses college’s compliance with Board of Regents degree requirements.
- Trains and supervises staff and / or student assistants.
- Provides and / or oversees graduation checkouts and audits management for the college.
- Maintains and updates current student records on information system.
- Performs admissions and recruitment functions for college.
- Performs other advanced academic advisement duties as assigned by college.
- Teach or co-teach GSU 1010 classes.
- Liaison responsibilities to a specific college or academic unit. Represent academic advising units on college and University committees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of college and University training for advisement personnel.
- Has leadership role in monitoring and tracking the retention, progression and graduation of all students within assigned population.
- Serve as lead worker for program(s) that require coordination Incept, social media, transfer articulation, joint enrollment, early alert, key dependency, degree works, banner, graduate student admission requirements, etc.
- May assist in reviewing student petitions.
- May handle course authorizations for students.
- May conduct informational sessions for an academic department.

Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree and either 1) 6 months experience as Academic Advisor II at GSU (University Advisement Center or other GSU advising department) or 2) five years of related experience;
or a combination of education and related experience.
