This position will be responsible for overseeing individuals, processes and policies within the finance department. In addition, the position will perform key tasks on a routine basis to ensure accuracy and timely completion of financial reporting requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and purpose changes when necessary.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assist with preparation of schedules required for tax returns, annual GAAP audits, and other audits.
- Oversee monthly sales and use tax reporting / payment process.
- Maintain detailed liability schedules and perform quarterly reporting and remittances for sales-based product royalties.
- Maintain all schedules necessary to ensure accurate reporting of fixed assets.
- Reconcile all intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
- Assist with standard costing updates and perform monthly inventory valuation reconciliations.
- Complete other tasks as assigned, in a timely manner.
Education and / or Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experienced in leading a team and implementing process improvement.
- Good working knowledge of A / R & A / P transaction processing workflows
- Ability to routinely work on-site 40 hours per week and as necessary during the monthly period-end close process.
- Prior experience with intercompany accounting and standard costing is preferred
- Strong analytical / quantitative skills. Ability to develop action plans and follow-up to completion.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly with Excel and Teams.
- Strong managerial and organizational skills; accurate and detail-oriented, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with staff at various levels.
