What you'll do...
As a Director - Corporate Tax at H&R Block, you will play a pivotal role in leading the domestic and international strategy, compliance with federal and international tax laws, and impacts of tax policy to minimize tax liabilities.
Your responsibilities will include identifying and implementing tax planning strategies, provide tax guidance and support to business units, and navigate tax policy changes while ensuring compliance.
We are seeking a strategic leader with a strong background in tax and the ability to navigate complex tax regulations.
Day to day, you’ll
- Tax Audits : Manage federal and international tax audits and disputes related to global tax matters with tax authorities, ensuring timely and favorable resolutions.
- Tax Credits : Manage both purchased and internally created tax credits. Work with third-party advisors to perform calculations and due diligence on credit purchases and ensure compliance with tax credit regulations.
- Tax Policy : Analyze and interpret new tax regulations and legislation and assess their impact to the Company.
- Tax Compliance : Oversee and ensure compliance with all global tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning and Strategy : Identify and execute tax planning opportunities to enhance the Company’s tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
Implement tax strategies to align with the Company’s business objectives and long term growth goals.
- Mergers and Acquisitions : Provide tax due diligence and structuring advice for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
- Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of 2-4 direct and indirect reports. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Collaborate with the team to ensure the development of a Connected Culture.
Collaboration : Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external vendors and cross-functional departments to manage significant tax matters.
What you'll bring to the team...
- A minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
- CPA, J.D. or equivalent certification.
- Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.
Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
- Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and / or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage;
