POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Drafter to join our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Portland, Oregon office.

This person will be part of a dynamic team that provides engineering services to our clients across the country and abroad.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following :

• Technical Requirements and Development
• Develop working knowledge of Client / Power CAD Standards and Compliance.
• Adhere to POWER’s QA / QC procedure requiring upmost personal accountability to enhance the project team’s success.
• Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget.
• Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements, which include :
• Vicinity Maps
• Structure List
• Plan and Profiles
• Phasing Drawings
• Foundation Drawings
• Structure Assembly Drawings
• Permit and Crossing Drawings
• Load and Design Drawings
• Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain an understanding of transmission lines beyond the redline mark-ups.
• Travel to POWER or client offices / field / vendor facilities as needed.

Required Education / Experience :

• Associates degree or 1-year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
• AutoCAD 2020-2024 experience
• Adobe PDF creation
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Time management and organizational skills are essential.
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs.
• Must be able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracy.
• Able to read and interpret drawings and drawing mark-ups.
• Able to use architectural and engineering scale to read and create drawings.
• The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.

Preferred Education / Experience :

• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus
• Knowledge of MS Office products
• Good background in basic mathematics
• Experience working with 3D drafting and detailing is a plus
• Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems is a plus
• Practical intern or utility industry experience is preferred
