A leading Japanese manufacturing firm is seeking a bilingual HR Assistant Manager to join their team.
Essential Duties :
The successful candidate will manage the bi-weekly payroll process, performance evaluation system, and HR department activities.
Key responsibilities include :
- Overseeing payroll and auditing processes.
- Managing performance evaluations to drive high performance.
- Planning and controlling HR department activities and strategies.
- Ensuring effective operation of HRIS systems.
- Developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Advising leadership on HR policies and legal requirements.
- Enhancing work relationships, morale, and employee retention.
- Always Maintaining confidentiality.
- Reviewing and updating the employee handbook.
- Assisting with benefits management, including healthcare and FMLA.
- Planning the company's annual calendar and managing manpower budgeting.
This role requires a strong understanding of HR systems, legal compliance, and strategic alignment with business objectives.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Non-Essential Duties :
- Generate and manage HR reports, including new hires, terminations, EEO-1 forms, and employee rosters.
- Continuously seek ways to improve departmental processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Adapt to changes and new improvements with flexibility.
- Research and develop resources to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Handle special projects and additional tasks as assigned by executive management.
- Follow up to ensure completion of assigned work.
- Uphold high ethical standards in all workplace activities.
- Report any irregular issues or problems to executive management for resolution.
- Maintain effective communication with executive management, staff, and external contacts.
- Ensure confidentiality of all company policies and procedures.
- Keep the working area clean and safe.
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with ADP systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Language Skills :
- Japanese / English bilingual preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulatory documents.
- Capability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals clearly and effectively.
- Skilled in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
