Summary
Under general supervision of the General Manager, interacts continuously with clients, promoters, artist’s agents, and artist’s managers in efforts to solidify business for the Center.
Oversees and coordinates all aspects in the Center booking process in applicable markets. Performs sales related functions in support of the basic Marketing Plan, by performing the following duties :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Negotiate venue deals with promoters and / or agents.
- Monitor and maintain the master Center calendar.
- Obtain full understanding of venue deal points and agreements.
- Input and maintain all events and event holds using the SMG Booking software.
- Distribute booking sheets and show related information to personnel.
- Assist in settlement of all concerts, religious events, and family shows.
- Contact prospective promoters, agents, managers, and individuals to initiate the sales effort.
- Follow-up on leads generated by outside sources.
- Compile bid and sales proposals for the Center.
- Negotiate, compile and execute sales contracts and venue agreements (to include tracing of contract, deposits, and insurance).
- Conduct facility tours for prospective clients.
- Manage the preparation and design of Center brochures, pamphlets, advertisements, and other promotional materials.
- Establish expansive network of promoters, agents, and managers (both Center and artist) representatives.
- Assist Sales team in accomplishing sales and marketing goals.
- Use Sales and Marketing principles as well as Social Media avenues to promote the facility.
- Attract ticketed and non-ticketed Latin event promoters and planners.
- Send client pre-event information and follow-up information that affects booking.
- Identify current and historical trends and opportunities in all markets including the Latin concert and meeting industries.
- Handle pre-event correspondence and meetings with event planners and promoters.
- Manage and maintain venue website as necessary.
- Manage and maintain proprietary Ticketmaster software applications.
- Carry out specific marketing plans relating to events using support of advertising, as requested by the General Manager.
- Attend industry specific trade shows, conferences, and meetings as necessary.
- Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has limited supervisory responsibilities for employees or interns in the Sales and Marketing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education And / or Experience
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
Facility / Industry Experience Preferred
Minimum 2 years sales related experience required. Bi-lingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
Skills And Abilities
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to effectively supervise staff.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
High aptitude for figures and advanced writing skills.
Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
Computer Skills
The following computer skills are preferred : Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, Wordpress, Photoshop, Ticketmaster, MailManager.
Other Qualifications
Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours as needed. Some travel as needed.
