Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Money Movement User Experiences team makes it easy for Stripe users to pay others. We do this by building and scaling Recipient Payouts, a purpose-built, payout only solution that allows senders to pay recipients with just one API call, supports consumer and W2 payouts, with global coverage, relevant payout methods and currency capabilities.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an engineering leader to build the team and drive the technical vision and design of the product. This role is critical, not only for the millions of merchants that use Stripe but their users as well.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of talented engineers, product managers and designers to deliver an end-to-end Payments product
  • Collaborate other leaders across Stripe to design and drive the vision for Payment Links
  • Drive the roadmap and goals of your team partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with the recruiting team
  • Develop engineers on the team, helping them grow and advance in their careers
  • Manage processes to enable your team to do their best work and interface effectively with the rest of Stripe
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.

The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • You have 10+ years of professional experience, and at least 3 years of engineering management experience, with a track record of leading high performing engineering teams
  • You have been responsible for delivering great products that work end-to-end and managed frontend and backend engineers
  • You enjoy working closely with customers
  • You work very well cross-functionally, and are comfortable making hard decisions and trade-offs
  • You have a strong technical sense and think rigorously about architecture and product decisions
  • You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
  • You have successfully recruited great people to your team
  • You enjoy developing and mentoring engineers and engineering leaders

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $224,300 - $336,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions / sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.

Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include : equity, company bonus or sales commissions / bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
