We’re looking for a highly-driven, organized, and personable human resources manager to play an important role on our team.
You’ll be responsible for managing our non-profit's HR and Payroll functions. This role recruits and onboards new staff members, processes semi-monthly payroll, and is responsible for managing agency benefits, taxes, and required reporting.
Additionally, the role oversees staff off-boarding, maintains all HR-related files, and ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations.
The Human Resource Manager / Executive Assistant also serves as the liaison to the Board of Directors and supports the Executive Director.

Responsibilities :
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Provide strategic oversight of all HR functions, review HR software needs and vendors, make recommendations, and implement changes when necessary to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Post jobs, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews
- Conduct background checks on new hires and check references
- Follow current processes for interviews, utilizing checklists for both staff hires and terminations
- Ensure all staff IT needs are met during staff onboarding and offboarding
- Manage functions of semi-monthly payroll in coordination with third-party administrator, including health benefits (IRA, PTO, HSA), including assisting employees with access to portals
- Support recognition of team members at regular intervals and for special projects and events
- Ensure that quarterly 941s, annual W-2s and other required documents are accurate and filed by deadlines
- Coordinating with the Director of Finance and Administration to ensure local, state, and federal reporting requirements are met
- Assist in policy review and oversight and provide suggestions regarding needed changes
BOARD LIAISON
- In cooperation with the Executive Director, coordinate regular board meetings and orientations, and board communications
- Ensure that board members are kept informed about volunteer opportunities and ensure that meeting logistics, materials, and updates are provided accurately and in a timely fashion
- Assist in setting up board meeting materials and attend board meetings to set up electronics and manage the PowerPoint during the meeting
GENERAL OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Assist the Executive Director on various administrative projects
- Manage ED calendar appointments and provide email support
- Coordinate all Director and Staff meetings and take and distribute meeting notes
- Maintain all board, HR, and administrative office files are organized, filed regularly, and retained per our documented records retention plan
- Maintain agency's ADMIN calendar
Qualifications :
- 3+ years as an HR manager, senior HR generalist, or in an upper-level HR position
- Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in business management, HR management or similar major
- Certified with the SHRM or a similar certification institute

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and able to effectively prioritize projects and tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced skills in all MS Office Products. Proficient skills in Canva preferred
- Must be able to work occasional evenings or weekends
- Reliable transportation
Education : Bachelor's Degree preferred
