Warehouse Manager Building Materials Greater Seattle, WAOur client, a leader in the Building Materials space supporting the construction and mechanical sectors.
They have reached out to Lock Search Group’s Supply Chain team to help add a new Warehouse Manager to run their Greater Seattle Operation.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and smooth operations of a multiple shift warehousing operation.
This individual plays an important hands-on role in supporting their warehouse staff on a day-to-day basis. The leader that we are seeking will have a strong sense of urgency, organizational skills and a track record of delegating, coaching and training;
but also, the capacity and ability to physically jump in’ and support his team with tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead, schedule, and plan regular meetings with administration and warehouse staff to continuously monitor current customer concerns and suggestions related to supply, shipment timeliness, and other customer service issues.
- Coordinate order processing for both internal customers and external customers.
- Negotiate freight rates in collaboration with the Traffic Manager.
- Oversee and be accountable for freight payables.
- Participate in regular distribution and operations team meetings as needed.
- Coordinate month-end cut-off activities.
- Collaborate with, Production, Production Scheduler, and Purchasing Departments to ensure and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Work with the Procurement Department to recommend adjustments in inventory levels, advise on slow-moving products, and coordinate product allocation when necessary
- Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to ensure the completion of regular cycle counts, spot-check inventory involved in reported shipping / receiving errors, and reconcile known discrepancies.
Additionally, as the successful candidate you will have :
- 5-7 years of experience in a Warehouse Supervisor position previous experience as a Warehouse Manager would be an asset
- Some College education within supply chain management would be ideal
- Proven leadership qualities, with the ability to lead by example, delegate and motivate the team
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Previous experience with seasonal peek / off-season environment sense of urgency during peek
- Strong time management skills with the proven ability to multitask
- Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long term goals
- Strong work ethic and superior attention to detail
