IT Process Automation Engineer

This is a hybrid opportunity, at our East Lansing, Michigan; New York, NY; or Napa, CA offices.

The IT Process Automation Engineer role will facilitate IT audit activities, completing audit evidence gathering, create and maintain automation of audit review tasks, and organizing and maintaining audit evidence.

The role will evaluate existing IT audit processes, suggest and implement enhancements, and review IT systems for controls compliance-related recommendations.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Business and 1 to 2 years, or 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably within an insurance / medical industry.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills : verbal, face-to-face, and written.
• Technical knowledge and experience with technology environments, including server, network, storage and communications systems.
• Proficient understanding of technology systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
• Proficient understanding of project management principles.

R esponsibilities : Audit Facilitation

Audit Facilitation

• Work with internal and external audit teams to plan audit work, create timelines, document audit requests, and manage the approval process for audit evidence.
• Coordinate closely with internal IT teams to follow up on audit requests.
• Manage a comprehensive audit activities tracker, including due dates, task details, and effort estimation the IT team is spending on audit activities.
• Manage a comprehensive mapping of IT controls to industry-standard and internal and external control methodologies.

Automation Creation and Management

• Analyze IT team activities, including for audit tasks, to determine cost-benefit of automating those tasks.
• Develop scripting and automation of current manual or partially-manual tasks.
• Maintain scripting and automation using best-practices approach to code documentation, storage, and security.
• Monitor and resolve issues created by automation jobs.

Audit Evidence Collection

• Collect and manage evidence from a variety of IT systems related to internal and external audit requests.
• Complete expert-level review of audit evidence to ensure compliance with audit controls & goals, including completeness and accuracy.

Internal IT Audit Analysis

• At the direction of AVP of Infrastructure, complete internal IT audits of systems to ensure compliance with a variety of IT controls.
• Create and present comprehensive audit reports for IT management to consider improvements in technology, people or processes in order to meet audit and compliance obligations.
• Document, track and facilitate system owners (SMEs) improvements of systems to best comply with IT or business controls.
• Assess existing IT audit processes and suggest enhancements.

Delivery Excellence :

• Complete project deliverables on time per specifications
• Ensure project deliverables maintain a balance of scope, schedule, and cost.
• Ensure project deliverables meet business customer expectations
• Ensure project deliverable quality does not require rework to meet business expectations

Leadership / Team Development

• Mentor and motivate project team and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their tasks / projects while supporting overall team to identify and achieve corporate goals, department goals and development goals.
• Communicates and delivers ongoing / timely feedback to project team regarding their performance.
• Monitor roles and responsibilities of the project team.
• Stay well informed of current and emerging technologies / technology trends
• Work and guide project team to ensure appropriate technology knowledge is developed.

Other duties as assigned

Available for any and all duties, accepts delegated tasks readily and completes assigned duties as directed.

Salary Range : $82,328 - $101,700
