Mechanical Superintendent / General Foreman / Foreman

Position Overview : Loenbro is in search of experienced Mechanical Superintendents / General Foremen / Foremen responsible for planning, scheduling, estimating, and management of multiple construction projects at multiple job sites.

Will need to manage subordinates and coordinate activities of workers.

The ideal candidate should possess an unwavering commitment to safety, strong personal initiative, excellent planning and problem-solving capabilities, and effective interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

  • Supervise daily work of employees
  • Verify conformance of finished work product
  • Ensure that all employees within the job receive proper training to operate machines they will be using
  • Responsible for the successful completion of all activities
  • Ensure all tasks are completed with the highest level of safety
  • Manage both cost and schedule for self-performed and subcontracted work
  • Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and other internal and external contacts
  • Select subcontractors through bid analysis
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Review and approve project invoices, to ensure vendor and subcontractor payments
  • Assist in the implementation of QA / QC programs
  • Consult with upper management to ensure all work procedures and constructability issues are resolved with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and designers
  • Evaluate construction methods, determine cost-effectiveness, and discuss any concerns with Project Manager

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum 8+ years as a Superintendent
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred
  • Experience with estimating, subcontract management, scheduling, and purchasing a must
  • Construction background
  • Ability to meet fast-paced, changing schedules and priorities
  • Strong awareness of industry recommended practices, OSHA requirements, equipment, and QA / QC
  • Microsoft Office and Microsoft Projects proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel
