Position Information Position Title Data Security Analyst Requisition Number S01786P Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 40 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade E32 Salary FLSA Exempt Job Summary / Basic Function NOTE : This position can be filled at the N27 or E32 grade, depending on candidate qualifications.
The Data Security Analyst will assist with the management of an Information Security program, concentrating on Information Security and Identity Management tools and practices as well as compliance with relevant information technology security policies, standards, procedures and regulations.
The Data Security Analyst will also conduct regular risk assessments, audits, employ scanning and detection methods, and manage remediation of identified risks and vulnerabilities.
Other responsibilities include analysis of traffic trends and system logs and proposition of security policy changes. The Data Security Analyst will also assist with departmental information security reviews;
participate or lead in information security incident responses, and research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of information security issues, alerts, and threats.
Make recommendations for security and access configurations of university systems and networks. Administer Information Security and Identity Management infrastructure.
Required Qualifications Required Qualifications :
N27- Associate Data Security Analyst :
- Associate’s degree in a related field or related equivalent work experience
- Experience working with security tools
- Experience with TCP / IP and ethernet based network technologies
- General understanding of computer networking and information security principles
E32- Data Security Analyst :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or related equivalent work experience
- 2 years of full-time experience in an information security related field
- Direct experience working with enterprise IT and Security resources (e.g. Vulnerability Scanners, SEIMs, Active Directory, Syslog, Identity Access Management Solutions)
- General understanding of computer networking and information security principle
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or related equivalent work experience
- Direct Experience working with enterprise IT and Security resources (e.g. Vulnerability Scanners, SIEMs, Active Directory, Syslog, Identity Access Management Solutions)
- CCNA or CCNP Security or similar certification
