Regional Sales Manager - Cannabis Industry (Nevada, Arizona, Colorado)
Location : Preferably based in Colorado
Position Overview : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to oversee and drive the sales operations in our key territories of Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado.
As part of the cannabis industry, this role is critical to our growth strategy and market penetration. The RSM will be responsible for achieving the region's revenue targets, managing key account relationships, and ensuring the success of a team of Field Sales Representatives.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cannabis market, be based in Colorado, and possess a strong track record of sales management and leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Revenue and KPI Management :
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve regional revenue goals, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, including revenue growth, market share, and profitability, to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement data-driven strategies to optimize sales processes, increase market penetration, and meet or exceed regional KPIs.
- Team Leadership and Development :
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of Field Sales Representatives across Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado, ensuring they have the skills and tools necessary to succeed in their roles.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to enhance the effectiveness of the sales team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Key Account Management :
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key cannabis dispensaries, wholesalers, and distribution partners in the region.
- Lead negotiations with major accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that drive revenue growth and long-term partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding into untapped markets within the region.
- Strategic Planning and Execution :
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement regional sales strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to adjust sales tactics and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to the sale and distribution of cannabis products.
- Reporting and Communication :
- Prepare and present detailed reports on regional sales performance, including revenue, market share, customer satisfaction, and team progress, to senior management.
- Maintain open communication with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and compliance, to ensure cohesive execution of sales strategies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the sales team and corporate leadership, ensuring alignment on goals and objectives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of sales management experience, with at least 3 years in the cannabis industry.
- Deep understanding of the cannabis market, including regulatory landscape, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics in Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a multi-state territory.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in building, managing, and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions that drive business success.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region and attend industry events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Established network within the cannabis industry, particularly in Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado.
- Based in Colorado, with a deep understanding of the local market dynamics and regulatory environment.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
