The Department of Informatioin Technology (DoIT) was established to provide statewide radio dispatch services to all state agencies that are not law enforcement.
Its sole purpose is to conduct effective communication that will ensure the safety of the citizens and client agency employees that is serves.
The State of New Mexico has mandated that it be adequately staffed 24 / 7 / 265. All Dispatch positions are considered "safety sensitive" and "essential employees."
This posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain opened until filled.
Why does the job exist?
The DoIT Dispatch works closely with law enforcement at times but is here to dispatch for all state agencies that are not law enforcement.
We handle the rest of the state agencies so that law enforcement can concentrate solely on law enforcement. We also dispatch statewide.
How does it get done?
- Receiving non emergency calls and the recording of significant information;
- Addressing problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions;
- Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize emergencies;
- Provide field nits with information about traffic, obstacles and requirements;
- Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories. DoIT dispatches for all state agencies that are not law enforcement : Fire Marshall, NMDOT, NM Environment Department, Forestry, DoIt Radio Microwave Techs, and Probation & Parole
- Monitor all hospitals and ambulances statewide (If communication is lost between the ambualnce and hospital, DoIT Dispatch relays information to both parties
- Aids law enforcement agencies with assistance on New Mexodo highways with a variety of conditions; damaged guardrails, traffic accidents, fallen trees , bad weather, animals on the highway, roadway, etc.
- Monitors the whereabouts and activity of Probation & Parole Officers in the field amongst felons.

Minimum Qualification

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain current Drivers License or ID. Pre-employment background investigation and drug screening is required, and employment is conditional pending results.
