Job Description :

The Manufacturing Technician will join anexceptional crossfunctional team of engineers and technicians tofabricate components and assemble them into the most advanced solidrocket systems in the world.

AerojetRocketdyne is an industryleading supplier of missile components to the government for use innational defense. This is an entrylevel position for mixing andprocessing of energetics for casting.

Theposition will involve functions such as cleaning and assemblingequipment cleaning tools parts and work area and operate machinery.

They will record and maintain records for manufactured products.Must work safely while producing a high quality product andmaintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Works under close supervision and receives detailedinstructions the Manufacturing Technician 1 performs routine andrepetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area.

Applygeneral manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to come up withlogical answers.

Essential Functions :

50% Full scale propellant mixing Preparesmaterials and performs fullscale mixing for all production programsconfirming acceptable weights prior to releasing the materials tocasting operations.

The technician will also perform fullscalemixes for new programs / new formulations as they are introduced tothe site. The technician is responsible for requisitioning andorganizing the materials and processing required for the mix aswell as cleaning and maintaining full scale mix equipment.

Technician will perform these duties under the general direction ofengineer and the area supervisor using established welldefinedmethods and calculations.

10% MathematicalPerform mathematical calculations such as addition subtractionmultiplication division to create acceptable mixes for casting anduse process data to fill out manufacturing data sheets.

Thesecalculations are performed using welldefined methods.

35% Grinding The technician will assemble grinders andgrind materials for fullscale propellant mixes and weigh materialbins to correct weight for propellant mixing.

Technician isresponsible for disassembly cleaning and reassembly of fullscalegrinding equipment.

• 5% Other duties asassigned Such as but not limited to : AP prep for grinding bowlplugging for mixing Prototype motor casting development samplepreparation and support of new production initiatives andschedules.
• Willing and available to work othershifts or overtime as needed to meet productionschedules.
• Able to work from elevatedplatforms climb ladders and transport 35 lbs.repetitively.
• Medically cleared to wear arespirator and operate powered industrial vehicle (and obtaincompany issued license as appropriate).

Qualifications :

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalentwith 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.

PreferredAdditional Skills :

• Ability to understand and follow written and oralinstructions.
• Ability to follow safetypractices.
• Ability to establish and maintaincooperative working relationships with the work team and thosecontacted in the course of work.
• Ability toperform mathematical calculations accurately andquickly.
• Ability to work with managementsupervisor or lead personnel to prioritize work and meet criticaldeadlines.
