Job Summary
In this role, you will assist with technical direction and conduct installation configuration validation and work package development.
You will participate in and assist with work planning, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health.
Your work will help ensure equipment, systems, and activities are operating and compliant with plans and design. #LI-EH1
Telework Designation :
Full-Time In Office : This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9 / 80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.
Major Responsibilities :
General
Conducts basic Startup Specialist duties of installation configuration validation and work package development
Work Planning & Packaging
- Participates in the planning and scheduling of CSU activities for assigned areas of responsibility and / or assists more senior Startup Specialists with planning CSU activities and methods
- Participates in the preparation of Startup Work Packages and Test Work Packages for assigned areas of responsibility and / or assists more senior Startup Specialists with preparation of Startup Work Packages and Test Work
Package
Participates in the preparation of scoping drawings, flush sketches, as well as component and system test procedures and maintenance and / or operating procedures
Turnover Coordination
- Participates with Construction in CSU turnover walkdowns for assign areas of responsibility. Interfaces with the Field Engineer as required to support component / system turnover
- Provides assistance with completion of ITRs in a timely manner and ensures submittal into the completions system for quantities earning
Material Mgmt. & Quantities
- Drafts contract change notices and amendments, extra work orders, and back charge notices as assigned
- Tracks quantities on quantity tracking systems or other database systems as required
Quality Control
- Assists with walkdowns and inspections to validate that the system configuration is in accordance with the design
- Monitors testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications and compliance with test procedures
- Reviews project design data to ensure completeness to extent required to support CSU activities
ES&H
Participates in the identification and elevation of ES&H issues in the field and is a visible 'walk the talk' leader in good ES&H practices
Education and Experience Requirements :
Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
- Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact closely and frequently with partner teams
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excell
- Must be able to walk at least 3 miles per day over uneven ground and be able to climb stair towers 75’ in height at least 6 times per day to access project equipment.
- General knowledge of construction work environment
