The Office of Development and University Relations (DUR) at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Staff Assistant I.
Reporting to the Administrative Assistant, with a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Advancement Services, this position provides administrative support for the Development and University Relations team, primarily assisting development officers and alumni relations staff and assisting as needed with gift processing.
Responsibilities
- Providing front desk support in coordination with Administrative Assistant.
- Manage department emails.
- Manage booking of department conference room.
- Crosstrain with Advancement Services Specialist to serve as a back-up as needed.
- Assist with meeting / event preparation for DUR team.
- Provide clerical support to development officers and alumni team.
- Assist to take RSVPs for events and functions.
- Taking and forwarding messages.
- Assisting in some data entry and reporting processes.
- Serve as back-up in managing student workers when Administrative Assistant is out of office.
- Interface with UT community and public.
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
- HS diploma required, some college or professional educational courses preferred.
- Two (2) years office clerical experience required.
- Previous experience in an academic setting preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Experience with a CMS (content management system) a plus.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multi-task; attention to detail and organizational skills needed as well as establish priorities and manage time wisely.
- Donor database experience preferred. Experience with Raiser’s Edge database is an advantage.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

$ per hour
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 to 5 : 00
Summer Schedule : Monday through Thursday from 8 : 00 to 5 : 30
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
