Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform the duties of Plant / Site Electrician in a safe manner
- Ensure operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive and predictive maintenance
- Assist in the management and control of work orders, accurate time tracking and parts consumption
- Inspect production equipment and plant facilities to ensure a safe electrical working environment
- Assist in the installation of new machines and equipment
- Read, maintain, and update plant electrical drawings / schematics to ensure compliance
- Understand and regularly create and use JSA’s and SOP's
- Diagnose, repair and / or replace electrical components of machines, including but not limited to motors, relays, overloads, cables, switches, sensors and variable speed drives
- Maintain electrical equipment, parts, and supply inventories to anticipate needs and placing orders and verifying receipt
- Prepare and maintain all electrical maintenance reports
- Participate in all housekeeping activities
- Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Skills and Requirements
- Completion of apprenticeship or electrical trade school education Preferred
- Minimum 3 years Industrial Electrician or Master Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Concrete products plant experience (big board machinery) preferred
- Previous supervisory / management experience would be an asset
- Must have knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures including Arc flash regulations
- Practical knowledge of machine operations in a manufacturing environment
- Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to perform work with hands and / or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level
- Basic Computer Skills - MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat
- Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs CMMS
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot the following :
- 24 VDC, 110 and 480 / 600 3 Phase VAC electrical systems
- PC / PLC Control Systems
- Ability to read electrical prints / schematics
- Ability to safely operate power / hand tools and all related safety equipment
- Fluency in oral and written English language
- Must be available for both day and night shifts as required
Education
- High School or better - Required
- Technical / other training or better - Required
- 3 years : Industrial electrician experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical control equipment
Licenses & Certifications
Certified Electrician - Preferred
