Hours / Work Times
7 Hours Per Day (7 : 30 a.m. - 3 : 00 p.m. includes 30 minute unpaid lunch)
190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 Holidays)
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 08 / 15 / 24.
Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows* :
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; AND
- Must meet one or more of the following :
- Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service ParaPro Assessment (ETS test / PRAXIS); or
- Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
- Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).
- If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates .
Upon hire, new paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

SUMMARY STATEMENT :
Under the supervision of the Culinary, Baking, and Pastry Arts instructor and the program administrator, the Instructional Paraeducator will manage catering activities, working closely with high school students on an individual and small group basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assist the program instructor by supervising and working with students as follows :
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and the general public.
- Assist in supervising student activities in the dining room and kitchen.
- Coordinate and schedule restaurant area conference rooms use agreements.
- Manage banquet events orders, billing, accounts receivables and accounts payables.
- Work with public to coordinate and ensure success of event.
- Assist in providing small group or individual instruction to students.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Assist in evaluating and specifying direction of instruction so as to maximize each student’s potential.
- Maintain accurate program records and data on student progress.
- Assist in administering and scoring formal and informal tests.
- Implement behavioral management strategies using the emphasis and techniques that have been outlined by the instructor.
- Assist in organizing and preparing a variety of instructional materials.
- Perform inventory process and other year-end program activities.
- Attend various training sessions as necessary so as to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the above trade.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY :
Computer, telephone, copy machines, and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions as listed above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Keyboarding experience and knowledge of or willingness to learn computer skills.
- Restaurant management / culinary arts (front and back of house) experience required (minimum of three years).
- Experience coordinating and scheduling banquet event orders, conference contracts, and catering requests required.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and schedule banquet event orders and conference rooms, process contracts and catering requests.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, customers, and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, to include high school students, customers, staff, and vendors.
- Must possess personal characteristics of flexibility, initiative, cooperation, confidentiality, and assertiveness.
