RoleDescription :
As a Production Group Leaderyou will be the first line leader to support team members withinyour area / zone. You will be responsible for coordinating daytodayactivities in order to maintain scheduled production requirementsand to ensure your team is successful.
The hoursfor this position is 2 : 30pm to 1am MondayThursday with thepotential of overtime onFridays.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Createan environment of continuous improvement and empower and expectevery team member to contribute to that same culture ofimprovement.
- Interface with technical staff toensure proper support.
- Ensure that employeesare properly trained by their Team Leader or other designatedtrainer in the areas of safety quality equipment operation and5S.
- Serve as the first point of contact foremployees regarding employee relationsissues.
- Establish annual goals and objectivesthat support the attainment of operatingmetrics.
- Work to continuously improve processesand reduce inventories and work inprogress.
- Interface with Union Stewards incontract and discipline issues.
- Demonstrate acore value of respectful treatment of all team members in everydiscussion interaction and decision.
- Desire toeliminate waste and to develop team member skills to improve leanoperations.
- Other duties asassigned.
Qualifications &Requirements
- BachelorsDegree in Business Manufacturing Engineering or Operations ispreferred.
- Previous professional internship orcoop experience will be taken into consideration as relevantexperience.
- Must be selfdriven and ambitiouswith proven leadership capabilities preferably with servantleadership mindset.
- A minimum of 1 to 3 yearsof experience in a medium / high volume fastpaced manufacturingenvironment is preferred.
- Basic understandingof process control production scheduling Kaizen Kanban and Leanmanufacturing is preferred.
- Experience withmechanical and hydraulic press operations as well as a basicunderstanding of die setup and maintenance would bebeneficial.
- Previous Assembly line supervisionexperience would be preferred.
- Proficient withMicrosoft Office (Microsoft Outlook Word andExcel).
Physical Demands of Position
Position involves sitting long periodsstanding manual dexterity stooping bending and minimallifting.
