Senior Project Accountant
The primary purpose of this position is to process invoices related to the construction project component of the company. This includes converting system-generated invoices into AIA-standard pay applications and submitting them to contractors per their payment schedules. Additional responsibilities include completing lien waivers and other required documentation, following up on progress payments and final payment, and ensuring proper project closeout. You will also manage the cost and profitability of project business operations by developing data-driven strategies, analyzing project results, and implementing financial process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices related to construction projects and convert system-generated invoices into AIA-standard pay applications.
- Submit invoices to contractors according to their payment schedules.
- Complete lien waivers and other required documentation for projects.
- Follow up on progress payments and final payments to ensure timely receipt.
- Ensure proper project closeout by conducting thorough reviews to identify process improvements.
- Manage the cost and profitability of project business operations.
- Develop data-driven strategies for project management.
- Analyze project results and implement financial process improvements.
Essential Skills
Experience in project accounting and ERP systems.Proficiency in cost management and analysis.Ability to manage collections and payment follow-up effectively.Skill in conducting project closeout reviews.Strong process improvement capabilities.Competence in accurately documenting systems and recommending improvements.Familiarity with month-end processes, job costing, and reconciliation.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience with standard costing methodologies.High degree of accuracy and thoroughness.Ability to perform well under pressure with professionalism.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27 / hr.
