Education and Experience : You have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field and at least two (2) years of full-time experience (or the equivalent in a part-time position) supporting and maintaining information systems in a professional work environment.

Your experience must include the following :

  • providing excellent customer service, and
  • working at an institution of higher education.

In addition :

  • Ability to communicate in English to audiences with a wide variety of technical aptitude and understanding.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information and data.
  • Familiarity using operating systems such as Microsoft Windows or MacOS.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with various business processes.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, such as system logs, for troubleshooting and reporting.

ABOUT THE POSITION : The Information Technology department seeks a skilled, personable, and customer-oriented computer professional for the position of Applications Support Specialist.

The Applications Support Specialist works within a collaborative team for the purpose of providing support and analysis for enterprise applications provided internally and to the member institutions.

This role assists in the operational maintenance and coordination for all enterprise applications while maintaining appropriate communication with all stakeholders involved.

The Applications Support Specialist contributes to process improvement efforts by gathering and analyzing data for both administrative and technical purposes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support and maintain all enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshoot system and software issues and apply patches or upgrades as necessary.
  • Evaluate existing enterprise application and services for needed changes and improvements.
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources to develop reports for capacity planning, service inquiries, troubleshooting, and other relevant needs.
  • Provide documentation regarding processes and procedures related to project delivery, releases testing, and ongoing operational support.
  • Participate in a team environment to complete project timelines and goals.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate in a high-performance team environment.
  • Contribute to diverse and cross-functional teams, including teams with members from across external organizations.
  • Coordinate and interacts with application vendors for service and support needs in the IT integrations of enterprise software.
