Transmission Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sandblast and / or paint product and parts
• Disassemble transmissions
• Pack, label and palletize
• Preassembles product.
• Assembles transmission or valve body.
• Inspects clean parts.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous mechanical, assembly or automotive experience
• Knowledge of hand or pneumatic tools
• Basic PC skills (on / off, read screen, toggle, use mouse, check inventory)
• Must be able to read work instructions in English.

Preferred Skills and experience

• Previous lean manufacturing experience helpful.
• Forklift or pallet jack experience

Reporting to Position Reports to Team Leader, Passenger Car. Has no direct reports.

• Physical demands : While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time;

The associate must frequently an repetitively lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work Environment : While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to a remanufacturing floor atmosphere with some office exposure.
