The Garrett Group is seeking a Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating large-scale defense contracts, ensuring that projects are executed effectively and in accordance with client requirements, defense standards, and budget constraints.
The PM works closely with military and government stakeholders, internal teams, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results that meet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Oversight : Lead the full lifecycle of defense contracts, from initiation to completion, ensuring that all project milestones, timelines, and objectives are met.
- Budget Management : Develop, track, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and preventing overrun.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government / military clients, ensuring regular communication and managing expectations.
- Team Leadership : Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, logisticians, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth execution of project plans.
- Compliance : Ensure all deliverables are compliant with defense regulations, contractual obligations, and government standards, including ITAR, DFARS, and other relevant guidelines.
- Risk Management : Identify potential project risks and create mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Performance Tracking : Monitor and report project progress using earned value management (EVM) or similar methodologies, ensuring timely reporting to both company leadership and the client.
- Contract Negotiation : Assist in the negotiation of contract terms and modifications, ensuring the company's interests are represented and secured.
- Proposal Development : Support business development efforts by contributing to the creation of proposals for new contracts, including pricing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure that all products and services delivered meet the required quality and performance standards as outlined in the contract.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, or Project Management). A Master's degree or PMP certification is often preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 5-10 years of experience managing defense or government contracts, with a proven track record of successful program execution.
- Security Clearance : Active or eligible for a security clearance TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility.
- Knowledge : Strong understanding of DoD procurement processes, military systems, and defense-related technologies.
- Skills :
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with defense regulations like ITAR, DFARS, and FARS.
- Familiar with the CMMI-SVC Level 2 certification process
- Knowledge of corporate ISO 9001 and 27001 audits / recertifications
Additional Skills :
- Experience in managing subcontractors and suppliers in defense projects.
- Knowledge of advanced defense technologies (cybersecurity, AI, aerospace systems, military intelligence, etc.).
