Responsibilities*
The Administrative Specialist Associate for the Department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics will support the administrative needs of a faculty laboratory.
Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Prepare correspondence.
- Coordinate national meetings involving travel and hosting arrangements.
- Maintain calendars for faculty and key lab personnel.
- Ensure electronic files are organized.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports and publications.
- Provide an atmosphere of teamwork and provide backup support for other staff as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor?s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated administrative support experience.
- Strong computing skills, including proficiency with MS Suite, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Forward thinking, excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner.
Candidate must show the ability to work effectively and efficiently, both as a member of a team and independently.
- Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and consistently sharing information and resources with others.
- Demonstrated ability in exercising professionalism and handling highly confidential and sensitive information with a demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to prioritize for maximum productivity.
- Must possess strong organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure, with proven time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a diverse dynamic environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately, independently and as a team with a keen attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications*
Experience with M-Pathways for processing transactions such as travel and hosting expense reports and other non-P.O. vouchers;
P-Card reconciliation.
Knowledge of University of Michigan Policy and Procedures.
Work Schedule
8 AM - 4 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday, 40hrs. One day a week from home.
