POSITION SUMMARY :
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of logistics strategies, concepts, coordination, and movement of all products.
Responsibilities include management of areas in transportation, material handling, shipping / receiving, and warehousing coordinator.
This role will also handle routine managerial responsibilities such as : providing training, scheduling work, monitoring performance, and addressing personnel issues.
Responsible for both direct and indirect reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Management of all areas of transportation to include safety, equipment, DOT Regulations, compliance, distribution and customer service.
- Knowledge of shipping tariffs to ensure most cost-effective method of shipping and current regulations and documentation of shipping for all relevant destinations.
- Coordinate transportation with plant production to create a true win-win between customers, drivers and plant team members.
- Plan, direct, coordinate the storage and distribution of raw and finished materials and supplies within the organization.
- Provide oversight for quarterly driver meetings.
- Coordinate carrier relations and 3PL Broker relations.
- Maintain inventory control and accuracy.
- Oversee maintenance of transportation and material handling equipment.
- Manage continuous improvement objectives throughout the warehouse and logistics department.
- Basic knowledge, understanding and use of technology related resources.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Adhere to the safety and quality policies at all times.
- Comply with the company’s attendance / tardiness standards.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Logistics.
- Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience in Logistics.
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations.
- Manufacturing background preferred.
- Microsoft office experience.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis.
