Essential Duties
- Prepare cell culture supplies
- Clean equipment (laminar flow hood, BSL2 cabinet, and incubators)
- Coordinate disposal of waste (biohazard, sharps, pipets, etc)
- Monitor cell culture equipment (CO2, water, heated baths, refrigerators) and cell culture supplies (media, trypsin, PBS, disposable containers, Pasteur pipettes, etc)
- Evaluate students’ lab skills and provide feedback for improvement
- Grade notebooks
- Maintain Canvas website
- Order, receive and stock supplies
- Other general lab specific tasks
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, immunocytochemistry, qPCR, western blots, and cloning.
- Demonstrable lab organization and project management skills
- Prior teaching experience.
EDUCATION :
Minimum Bachelor’s in cell or molecular biology.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects / material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
