Essential Job Functions :
The Internal Communications Coordinator supports district leadership and goals by developing and implementing strategic multi-faceted internal communications plans and is responsible for increasing employee awareness, understanding, and engagement using multiple channels and supporting change management initiatives.
This role designs and implements annual strategic internal communications plans to support Communications Department goals.
The Internal Communications Coordinator collaborates with the Communications Department to create and promote content that tells compelling stories about our students and staff through internal channels.
The Internal Communications Coordinator works in collaboration with other departments on marketing initiatives. This individual must have strong project management and computer skills, be extremely organized, and be an innovative thinker who can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for working collaboratively to plan and implement communications strategies and content to meet the needs of the communications department in support of Parkway’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications preferred
- 5+ years of communications / public relations experience preferred
- Strong technology skills, including proficiency in websites, graphic design programs, and Google
- Event planning experience
- Thorough understanding of digital media communications, photography, and online tools
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in online posting and management of social media accounts
- Ability to write, edit, and produce stories on deadline using AP style
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to effectively manage time on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
- Ability to recognize and initiate creative solutions
- Ability to train others on technical solutions and best practices regarding communications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend events.
- Must be able to provide transportation to district buildings.
- A valid Missouri driver’s license required
