Assistant Program Director at Recovery Transitions

FLSA Status : Exempt

SUMMARY OF DUTIES :

The Assistance Program Director works at a maximum level of independence and responsibility, often sharing responsibility for many agency operations with the Program Director, including the development, oversight and evaluation of treatment protocols and activities in relation to the MISSIONS-CJ Team / Niagara County LEAD-PATH.

He / She will be responsible for the expansion, enhancement and operation of the MISSION-CJ Team / Niagara County LEAD-PATH, an evidence-based practice (Maintaining Independence and Sobriety through Systems Integration, Outreach, and Networking for Criminal Justice settings : MISSION-CJ) that will be known as Mission Reentry.

She / he provides supervision to designated staff and is responsible for providing direct treatment services to a small caseload of assigned clients.

The Assistance Program Director oversees the intake, assessment, engagement of individuals who may benefit from MAT, therapy, and linkage within the community.

They will leverage the new reentry center - Service Link Stop - that is located adjacent to the ECHC in downtown Buffalo.

She / he is also responsible for the overall management of the daily operations in absence of the Program Director. The Assistance Program Director performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Directs and coordinates case assignments and service delivery.
  • Manage and oversee day to day operations of MISSION Reentry Team / Niagara County LEAD-PATH
  • Implement and oversee Fidelity Monitoring Plan
  • Provides orientation and training to new staff.
  • Oversees management of referrals.
  • Participates in, and frequently leads, treatment team meetings.
  • Participates in program supervisory meeting.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of assigned staff against agency standards.
  • Assures that client records are adequate, accurate and up to date; reviews documentation issues with responsible staff.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with referral sources.
  • Support collaboration among all stakeholder groups.
  • Quality outcomes and process analysis
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationship with key stakeholders such as : Erie County Sheriff's Office Jail Management Division, Erie and Niagara County Department of Mental Health, providers of mental health and substance use services, physical health care providers including hospital systems, housing providers, Community and social support services, and family members, as well as peer groups.
  • Completes tasks requested by Program Director

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Must have knowledge of clinical supervision practice, be well-versed in MAT, relevant community resources, multi-disciplinary team methodology, and substance use treatment theory and methods.

Must be able to relate effectively to diverse cultural and economic backgrounds and to work effectively in structured setting.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to build collaborative working relationships with community referral sources.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master degree, QHP status, and one year experience in substance abuse or mental health program.
  • Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, or closely related human service field,
  • PLUS, two years in a drug use services program and current CASAC certification preferred. NYS Driver's License required.
