The invites applications for a full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in engineering design and thermal / fluid sciences at the level of Industry Associate Professor, with a start date of September 1, .
An Industry Professor’s primary role are teaching, mentoring and educational innovation, and the position may also entail some administrative work and outreach.
The expectations for the position primarily involve teaching 2-3 undergraduate courses per semester or fewer courses if the tasks involve significant service and administrative tasks for the Department, such as new curriculum development, ABET accreditation preparation, and student mentoring.
The position is renewable depending on the performance.
Qualifications
The department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering, MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics & Robotics, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
The Department invites applicants for classroom and laboratory teaching and project mentoring in senior design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics courses.
The successful candidate should be an excellent teacher and must be able to mentor projects in support of our undergraduate courses.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in engineering closely related to Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a substantial record of industrial experience and / or teaching in these areas.
