Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
- Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
- Carries out process improvements, problem resolution, project management and helps with employee training.
- Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
- Prepares and presents plans for above and coordinates deployment.
- Prioritize improvement plans based on customer needs.
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new / revised products including establishing goals, and evaluating results.
- Participates in analysis of designs to determine areas of improvement.
- Maintains plant documentation for designated product lines to include but not limited to PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams and ODS forms.
- Understands and implements YIOS, BBP and other manufacturing processes.
- Establishes / maintains lineside racking in manufacturing areas.
- Understanding of automation interfaces with robotics, traceability, and vision systems that are used for manufacturing and Poke-Yoke Systems.
- Attend and participate in SDTMeetings working with Program and Launch Managers to go over open issues lists and upcoming changesto assigned programs.
- Prepares / maintains AutoCAD drawings for current / future business and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Leads equipment installation and relocations projects within the facility, including but not limited to air, power and floor space requirements.
- Lead plant efforts in standardize work processes including facilitating ergonomic improvements.
- Ability to work in a team environment and mentor other engineers in the department.
- Any and all other duties assigned by manager.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or manufacturing) preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an automotive environment preferred.
- BSME in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
