Job Description
COMMENTS : The CI Coordinator will work for Mizkan America, Inc. at the Owensboro, Kentucky sauce plant Ragu . The plant is a high-speed processing and packaging facility which produces sauces for both the Ragu and Bertolli pasta sauce brands.
The CI Coordinator will support the other Mizkan America plant as needed. This position will report to the CI Site Leader.

SUMMARY : Responsible for applying CI principles to continuously improve productivity of the plant. Works with designated CI groups to coach, support, train, and develop all CI Pillars.
Uses technical and mechanical skills / expertise to evaluate, analyze, and measure equipment and machine functions. Works with site teams and groups to record data and develop improvement steps and procedures.
Document procedural changes and help train associates on new SOP’s.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Active member in CI programs including equipment loss investigation & action plans to remedy loss of productivity
- Key contributor to deployment and sustainment of plant wide 5s Rapid Deployment methodology program including conducting layered Audit administration and scheduling, training, implementation of standards, audit score & performance tracking, reporting and completing actions to attain deployment goals.
- Leads / facilitates small team rapid kaizen events on monthly basis
- Analyzes data (access to sensitive labor & cost information), prepares reports, organizes CI events and ensures follow-up on actions plans
- Develop, and maintain Equipment Training (SOP’s, Skills Assessment Tests)
- Maintaining / soliciting CI suggestions from hourly workforce to ensure CI principles are implemented & followed
- Leading Root Cause Analysis training with Salary & Hourly employees and following up on action planning
- Maintains CI suggestions from Hourly workforce to ensure CI suggestions are captured & examined for implementation
- Training on OEE & 16 Losses & prevention with sister Mizkan sites across all shifts
- May be required to work 2nd or 3rd shift hours & will occasionally share in weekend duties with department leads
- Work safely; observe GMP rules.
- Work overtime, as assigned.
- Assist in other team jobs, as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School degree or equivalent is required. Associate or Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is a plus
- Understanding of Lean principles and / or aptitude to quickly learn and apply same knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical problems.
- Mechanical / technical aptitude.
- Good computer skills including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Access is preferred.
- Ability to train, coach, and impart mechanical knowledge and new procedures to hourly workforce and assure continuous improvement.
- Background in Lean or related process is a plus.
- Hands on mechanical experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Must work flexible hours to support teams across all shifts.
- Must have a proven record of organizational skills, and be detail oriented.
- Excellent communication skills required to present, train and motivate to achieve the implementation of CI activities.
- Presentation, coaching, training, and facilitation experience is a plus.
- Initiative Ability to make decisions, act when needed, and follow up. Strong sense of urgency.
- Conflict Resolution Skills Ability to deal with people in stressful situations in a mature and controlled manner.
