The Grant Writer position will work within the Public Relations and Development Department and will be supervised by the Public Relations and Development Director.
This position will play a critical role in advancing our organization's mission by identifying grant opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, implementing grants, generating grant reports, and assisting in grant management requirements.
This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and creative professional who can work collaboratively to secure funding that aligns with OIC's strategic goals.
Requirements :
- Articulate OIC of WA mission to staff and clients and demonstrate a commitment to these missions.
- Research and identify grant opportunities from government entities, foundations, and other grant-giving organizations that match the organization's objectives.
Additionally, identify opportunities for project proposals that could lead to partnerships, sponsorships, or other funding mechanisms.
Develop and submit compelling and high-quality grant proposals and project proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, in accordance with each grant maker's or partner's preferences.
Maintain a comprehensive calendar to track application deadlines, report submissions, proposal presentations, and follow-up activities for both grants and other proposals.
- Work closely with finance, program departments, and external partners to gather necessary information for both grant reporting and proposal development.
- Collaborates with Directors, Chief of Programs, and Senior Directors to ensure departmental growth by identifying and writing grant applications.
- Ensures personal accountability for meeting grant funding deadlines.
- Coordinate grant administration work with directors to support grant reporting and compliance.
- Updates and maintains the grants and contracts calendar.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- AA and / or BA Degrees in Social Services, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in grant writing, proposal / application development, and project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and concise proposals and reports.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and understand community needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
