About the role
Act as the primary HR business partner to the Site Leader and is an instrumental part of the site leadership team. The key focus areas include developing the local HR strategy, driving a proactive talent agenda (workforce planning, pipeline improvement, learning and development, performance management, , partnering to improve employee engagement and retention, and streamlining HR administrative processes while driving continuous improvement and compliance.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Site Leader and leadership team to develop and execute people related strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing talent.
Partner with other AAK US site HR leaders and engage with AAK global HR as needed.
Employee Relations
Promote positive Employee Relations : spends time walking the floor , developing local employee communications, performance improvement, new employee orientation.
Promptly and thoroughly investigate employee concerns; oversee disciplinary actions including terminations and investigations, ensuring consistency in the application of Company policies and standards;
resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
Manage employee data for multiple purposes such as employee directories, organization chart, headcount planning, among others;
prepares reports as needed or requested for management.
Review and approve payroll on a bi-weekly basis, reviewing any exceptions or changes with the appropriate manager / supervisor.
Oversight for local salary planning, performance management and other talent processes.
Talent Management
Develop localized training materials and performance management programs in partnership with other site HR teams to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
Assesses talent risks and develops action plans to drive retention and engagement.
Key leader in development of site succession plans.
Locally manage benefits and workers compensation and prepares agreed upon metrics and reports on a timely basis.
Ensure local compliance with federal and state Human Resources related laws, regulations and reporting requirements including Wage and Hour, COBRA, Family and Medical Leave, Workers Compensation, EEO, IRS Form 5500.
Labor Relations
Manage the labor relations communications between the Union, Management, and employees, , issue resolution, grievance procedures, investigate NLRB charges, etc.
Assists in preparing for and negotiations of collective bargaining agreement.
Assists in the training and development of line management in the application and administration of the labor agreement.
Works directly with Local Union Representatives on matters concerning the Labor Agreement, policy application, employee grievances, attendance control and disciplinary actions.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an HR Manager, regional manager within a large, complex manufacturing environment.
Experience leading and developing an HR team or other managerial responsibilities.
Experience in talent management for hourly employees, particularly creating and implementing development initiatives
Experience managing union and / or employee relations
Strong experience in conflict resolution, workplace investigations and employee discipline
Experience working with Talent Management processes and human resources information systems technology UKG and other HRIS technology; Microsoft Office
S / PHR Certification would be a plus
