Overview
The Solution Engineer role is a position Salesforce often hires for across multiple cloud offerings and verticals. A strong desire to demonstrate technical and / or sales skills is important, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and demonstrate solutions, and show business value.
Responsibilities
- A Solution Engineer plays a pivotal role in aligning innovative strategies to technology solutions within complex accounts, partnering with clients and internal teams to drive consensus on multi-product technology solutions across Salesforce product lines.
- Work on business development, operations and IT strategy tasks, and perform executive level product demonstrations; serve as a trusted advisor to drive innovative solutions and improve business performance.
- Business Problem Solving : define problems, drive innovative ideas, identify opportunities, and recommend practical next steps.
- Innovation Management : evaluate solution options, drive consensus, and help clients develop decision frameworks and governance processes that deliver ongoing value.
- Connect Experiences : deliver software demonstrations and prototyping to illustrate connected experiences with Salesforce solutions, including executive level demonstrations and IT roadmaps.
- Assist with discovery, analysis and recommendations of strategic solutions by delivering live product demonstrations to validate solutions across Salesforce technologies.
- Discover the customer's business needs and position the best Salesforce solution to achieve business objectives.
- Build and present customized demonstrations focused on Salesforce products to multiple customer personas, showing how Salesforce accelerates their business strategies and value.
- Convey understanding of the customer architecture as it pertains to Salesforce solutions.
- Lead cross-functional solutions guides and align them to the opportunity strategy.
- Develop and deliver the story of the customer experience aided by Salesforce technologies.
- Participate in product, sales and procedural training and certifications to maintain essential knowledge.
- Travel as required based on territory alignment and region.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent experience; experience evaluated based on core competencies (e.g., leadership, military, volunteer roles, work experience).Knowledge of related applications, relational databases and web technology.Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied environments.Minimum of 4 years of professional experience.Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce Certifications.Previous experience as a solutions / sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology.Accommodations
