Senior Director - Marketing Planning And Strategy - Strategic Marketing Partnerships
As Strategic Marketing Partnerships head, you will lead the vision, development, and execution of Sam's Club's most critical external partnerships to accelerate member acquisition, engagement, and retention, and deliver multi-billion-dollar revenue growth. This highly visible, enterprise-wide role will shape the strategic alliance roadmap, forge C-suite relationships with Fortune 500 brands, and launch integrated marketing partnerships that unlock new channels, enhance member value, and position Sam's Club as the most relevant and rewarding membership in the market. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, marketing, data, and relationship management, driving measurable impact across all facets of the business.
The Strategic Marketing Partnerships team creates and scales innovative partnerships that extend the Sam's Club value proposition into new consumer and business ecosystems. We identify, negotiate, and activate alliances with leading brands across retail, travel, dining, services, and e-commerce, delivering differentiated member experiences and profitable growth. Our work is data-driven, relationship-led, and outcome-focused, requiring cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Membership, Finance, Product, Technology, and Operations to deliver high-impact results at speed and scale.
What you'll do...
- Lead the strategic partnerships vision - build and execute a long-term partnership roadmap aligned to Sam's Club's growth priorities, leveraging data insights to identify high-value opportunities.
- Deliver transformative growth with an eye towards growing and retaining Sam's Club members - structure and execute partnerships capable of generating $1B+ in incremental annual revenue and acquiring 10M+ new members annually.
- Negotiate complex, high-value agreements - secure exclusive partnerships, offers, co-branded programs, and marketplace integrations that drive member engagement and partner ROI.
- Leverage data and analytics - integrate first and third-party insights to optimize partner targeting, offer design, and marketing execution for maximum performance.
- Expand distribution through partner ecosystems - embed Sam's Club offers into external retail, digital, and loyalty platforms to extend reach to new audiences.
- Represent Sam's Club at the C-suite level - act as the executive relationship owner for Fortune 500 partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders.
- Foster cross-functional execution excellence - align Marketing, Membership, Finance, Technology, and Operations to deliver partnerships that are scalable, measurable, and sustainable.
- Build and lead a high-performing team - attract, develop, and retain top talent in strategic partnerships, marketing, and business development.

15+ years of senior leadership experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or integrated marketing roles, ideally with Fortune 500 brands or large-scale membership organizations.Proven track record of structuring and executing partnerships with $500M+ annual impact, including co-branded programs, loyalty integrations, and cross-industry campaigns.Exceptional executive relationship management skills with experience influencing and negotiating at the C-suite level.Strong strategic and financial acumen, including P&L responsibility, ROI modeling, and partnership performance measurement.Experience leveraging first and third-party data to drive partner selection, campaign targeting, and measurable outcomes.Ability to lead in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, aligning multiple stakeholders and functions to deliver complex initiatives.Commitment to building inclusive, high-performance cultures and developing future leaders.Minimum Qualifications...
