Platform Engineering Manager

Overview

Sharetec is looking for a Platform Engineering Manager (also known as DevOps Manager) to join our team. This role is the same as a DevOps Manager or Platform Engineering Manager —you'll lead a team of DevOps engineers, drive infrastructure modernization, and scale automation practices across the company.

Our infrastructure is built with GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, and CI / CD best practices. You'll shape how we scale and automate, modernize and optimize our infrastructure and deployment processes, identify and address inefficiencies, collaborate with stakeholders to align system performance with business needs, and mentor a team of DevOps engineers to drive excellence.

This is a full-time, exempt role that can be fully remote in 30+ states or hybrid at one of our office sites in Fort Wayne, IN or Waco, TX. The starting salary range is $130,000 - $140,000 along with a robust benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Monitor our systems performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
• Design an automation framework to enable rolling releases within hours of QA approval.
• Takeover and standardize automation for creating ephemeral testing servers for internal and external customers.
• Review deployment strategy and create a plan to standardize configuration management in a single repository.
• Guide and mentor the team on an infrastructure-as-code strategy.
• Reduce MTTR to less than 1 hour for deployment-related incidents.
• Automate 90% of repetitive, manual work so the team can focus on higher-value tasks.
