Sr. Accountant

Support Center - Irving The Sr. Accountant will record and analyze Rent and Occupancy-related accounting transactions while maintaining compliance with internal accounting controls, established controls and reporting requirements. Supervise professional staff.

Major Activities

• Reconcile and analyze various general ledger account balances.
• Partner with internal departments to research questions and resolve issues related to rent, occupancy costs, utilities and repair and maintenance expenses.
• Prepare and enter various general ledger journal entries for month-end closing.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial schedules for presentation at monthly business partner reviews.
• Prepare quarterly and annual audit schedules in support of public disclosures. Work with external auditors to ensure successful audits.
• Partner with the Financial Reporting Team to research and recommend changes in accounting for new literature related to US GAAP, SOX, or SEC compliance.
• Monitor and evaluate internal controls as related to rent, occupancy and related costs.
• Plans, organizes, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
• Coaches staff, evaluates staff performance and effectively recommends other personnel decisions.
• Trains and develops staff to be best-in-class high performers.
