Powertrain Systems Engineer - Coolant Lines and HV Cables

45.00 to 56.00 per hour

Job Summary : The Powertrain Systems Engineer will be responsible for design and release of coolant lines and high voltage cable assemblies. This role will also include working with suppliers to select & source components including coolant hoses, fittings, high voltage cables, connectors, convolutes / abrasion protection and retention methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and release of coolant hose and / or tube assemblies.
• Design and release of high voltage cable assemblies.
• Work with Thermal system technical specialist to identify system level requirements for coolant hose sizing.
• Select coolant hose and fitting types compatible with end components and system requirements.
• Work with HV systems engineers to select cable size and mating connectors compatible with each of the HV components.
• Working with CAD designers to route coolant line assemblies with proper bend radii appropriate for the manufacturing method / line type and retention methods as required.
• Working with CAD designers to route HV cable assemblies with proper bend radius and retention methods.
• Identify and document assembly process for high voltage cable assemblies and coolant lines.
• Work with 2D detailers to create drawings of cable assemblies and coolant lines including appropriate tolerancing.
• Work with suppliers to conduct regularly occurring technical reviews of requirements and designs.
• Obtain preliminary quotes for use in supplier selection and ensure on time delivery plans are in place once final suppliers are determined.
• Provide status updates and formal presentation to customers, both written and verbal.
• Develop and execute DVP&R.
