Client Advisor (Automotive Sales Experience Needed)
The Service Client Advisor position has a pay scale consisting of base hourly compensation and potential commission based on closed hours. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $16.50 and $16.50 per hour. The position may also pay commission compensation based on the value or amount of closed hours, from $0.00 (if no hours are made) with no explicit upper limit other than sales performance.
Position Purpose
The Client Advisor is responsible for sales of new and pre-owned vehicles to customers within the assigned dealership.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests promptly, in a friendly and professional manner.
- Know, understand, and adhere to federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales.
- Maintain product knowledge through dealer training and self-study.
- Strive to meet sales goals by engaging potential customers as they enter the showroom; contact previous customers and seek referrals; respond to emails, phone calls, and faxes; develop outside networking relationships.
- Identify customer automotive needs and answer questions about vehicles of interest.
- Set up and conduct demonstrations as requested, ensuring safe driving and proper use of the demo vehicle.
- Prepare a sales proposal for the vehicles requested by the customer.
- Finalize the sale with the customer and ensure the vehicle is ready for pickup at the appointed time.
- Follow up to determine customer satisfaction and reinforce the sales experience.
- Utilize the dealership's CRM follow-up system to maintain ongoing communication, encourage repeat business, and earn referrals.
- Maintain a professional dress code and work discipline as required by Shelly Automotive Group and / or the specific dealership.
- Arrive on time and maintain an orderly work area; log all floor and telephone interactions into the CRM.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete; follow through to ensure stipulations and requirements are met for timely deal approval and funding.
- Conduct thorough test-drives on planned routes, obtaining a valid driver's license and verifying guest information before demonstrations.
- Inspect vehicles to ensure they are properly detailed, all functions operate correctly, and are ready for delivery.
- Introduce customers to Service and Parts Department and a Service Advisor when possible.
- Safeguard customer and dealer information per policy; comply with all safety rules and PPE requirements as applicable.
- Maintain proper display and return demo vehicles to their proper places.
- Adhere to work schedules and be prepared at the workstation as scheduled.
- Other related duties as assigned.
