Accountant
Ameriprise Financial is looking to add an accountant to the team! The individual in this role will manage the invoicing process for investment management services and the related accounting, collections, and financial reporting functions. Build strong relationships with business partners, maintain expertise in products and billing systems, and leverage technology to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and reporting capabilities.
Key responsibilities include : managing day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts receivable / payable, and month end close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies; preparing and issuing invoices for investment management services; partnering with business teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery and effective collections; owning and reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts; researching discrepancies and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner; serving as a subject matter expert on accounting and billing systems; maintaining data integrity, strong internal controls, and process efficiency while minimizing financial risks; developing and maintaining reports and dashboards that turn data into business insight; identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance efficiency by leveraging automation and new technology; and preparing and providing accurate documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and internal control testing.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 0-5 years of accounting experience, or an associate's degree with 2-5 years of accounting experience; good understanding of financial instruments; ability to apply root cause analysis on medium to complex issues; fluent in use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel; and strong understanding of systems, controls, accounting knowledge, and financials. Preferred qualifications include a degree focus in accounting, finance, or related field; demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn, adapt to, and implement new technologies; and experience with the Workday general ledger system.

Base pay salary for this role is $61,100 - $82,500 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and / or long-term incentives depending on the role.
