Job Description
The Managing Director is responsible for the sales and operations within the market which includes promotions and management of all leagues, activities, and events, in addition to regular managing and mentoring of their team.
City Performance & Sales
The Managing Director is accountable for city performance related to both adult and youth programing goalsCity Strategic PlanningHQ provides structure and best practices and the Managing Director uses city knowledge to maximize product quality, revenue, and marginsManage city budget, revenue, league plans & cash flowCreate & execute city growth strategy - for both youth and adult programsManage promotion and recruitment of new and past customersCreate monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget reviews and forecasts based on city revenueManage budget and ensure profit margins are being heldEnsure corporate sales & sports growth expectations are being metOffice Management
Full time team recruitment, selection, hiring & trainingBuild Team Office CultureEnsure proper roll out of new company processesOffice Team Evaluation & DisciplineStaff Vacation managementConfidential management of staff compensationInternal office & team communication - including both kids & adult staffManage, mentor, train and coach team including but not limited to status updates, budgets, goal setting and customer service response practicesHelp identify and recruit full and part time staff in the local marketCreate and Manage the sports Revenue PlanWork with HR to ensure there is a pipeline for incoming interns and appropriate goals and projects are assignedUphold Volo Quality Standards
Stickler for Branding, Operational Structure & Integrating kids programmingAssist in market-wide event planning, sponsorship activation and media relations as neededCollect program metrics and analysis throughout the season and develop tools for evaluation - for youth and adult programsEscalation point for customer service issuesAnticipate and provide proactive solutions to prevent customer service problems from arising in the futureMarketing
Oversee marketing budgetManage and execute all marketing partnerships and sponsorship activationsWork with marketing team to create a marketing plan, themes and initiativesPublic & Private Relationship Management
Grow market by identifying new opportunities and relationshipsDevelop relationships with current and future league venuesTrack the needs of each site including improvementsObtain permits for current and new locationsFacilitate partnerships with community organizations, neighborhoods and potential fundersEstablish and maintain relationships with facilities, bars, sponsors and other vendors - update and record all facility and bar partner contact informationSeek out and manage new business opportunities through development projects, bar, local sponsor, & local government relationshipsThis role will require periodic work out at our leagues, in the evenings and on weekends.Qualifications
MUST-HAVES
8-12 Years Experience, ideally in a sport or event management and / or business development capacityExperience managing a teamCan marshal resources effectively and comfortably navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervisionDetail-oriented project manager – you have experience managing multiple projects across function areas and feel comfortable wearing many hatsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active office environment“WOW” US WITH ...
