Recognizes pupil needs and seeks the assistance of other professional staff in helping pupils solvesocial, emotional, physical, and academic problems.

Plans and implements a program of study within the established curriculum that meets the individual needs and abilities of the students.

Prepares for classes assigned and shares preparation activities with the building principal, upon request.

Fosters a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Establishes clear objectives and communicates these to students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.

Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs, capabilities, andinterests of the students involved.

Assesses and reports student performance on a regular basis.

Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative procedures.

Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Actively maintains professional competencies through continuous learning and professionaldevelopment opportunities.

Supports the administration and staff in implementing current district practices and programs.

Appropriate Bachelor's Degree required.

Valid Illinois Teaching License - Registered in Lake County.

Valid First Aid / CPR Cards preferred.

Working Conditions :

Ability to actively perform work in classroom, office, and other business and community settings. Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (typically involving frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting). Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. Exposure to weather conditions. Long term substitute pay is $284 / day.
