Prince William Public Libraries is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our premier government research division—MAGIC (Management and Government Information Center). As the MAGIC Supervisor, you’ll direct a team that provides investigative research, business intelligence, and data analysis to support county operations, legal proceedings, and economic development.
You’ll also apply your librarianship expertise to expand programming, strengthen outreach with government agencies and community partners, and ensure MAGIC remains a trusted hub for authoritative information. About This Role
As the MAGIC Supervisor, you will lead Prince William Public Libraries’ specialized government research division, managing both people and operations in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You’ll oversee a team of skilled researchers who conduct complex investigations using proprietary databases such as The Last One (TLO), Accurint, and Lexis / Nexis to support county attorneys, schools, and government agencies.

You’ll represent MAGIC at Chamber of Commerce events, lead presentations at new employee orientations, and strengthen partnerships with economic development agencies. You’ll also prepare detailed statistical reports, update standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with all data privacy protocols.

The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position. Chinn Park is currently open 7 days a week. The schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library. Monday – Wednesday 9-8, Thursday-Saturday, 9-5, Sunday 12-5.
Starting Salary Range
$70,921.50 – $84,444.75 / yearly
