As a valued member of our team, the Accounts Payable Clerk will perform accounting and clerical tasks for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.
Pay : $23 per hour

Essential Functions

- Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with the company policies.
- Accurately review and process vendor invoices.
- Verifying and calculating all extensions and totals on invoices (calculating and taking discounts when applicable).
- Assembling invoices to be completed for payment.
- Processing invoices for payment.
- Verifying financial data to be used in maintaining accounts payable records.
- Reviewing any questionable invoice items or prices and addressing issues.
- Obtaining proper information and / or data regarding invoice payments.
- Reviewing invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval.
- Checking vendor files for any previous payments and assigning voucher numbers.
- Maintaining copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files.
- Preparing Excel spreadsheets with invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures.
- Generating periodic reports and other records.
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable.
- Maintain vendor relations via phone and email.
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Review and reconcile statements and invoice discrepancies.
- Providing other clerical support necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
- Using discretion while handling confidential financial records.

- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to use 10-key on keyboard
- Must be very dependable for this job

This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Required Education and Experience
One year certificate from relevant college or trade school plus two to three years related accounts payable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
