Job Description
The Senior Director, Hardware is accountable for the growth, profitability, and product roadmaps of the hardware solutions for the global Solutions Group business.
Our market-leading solutions include tabletop and mobile printers, handhelds, overhead RFID readers, and other technologies that connect the physical and digital world.
Working in collaboration with sales, market development, and functional leaders, this senior leadership role develops and executes our hardware strategy to differentiate Solutions Group within the market, including intelligent label and RFID solutions that connect supply chains across the food, logistics, and retail segments.
This position is part of the global Solutions Group leadership team and plays a key role in crafting our annual operating plans and our long-term strategic plans.
The Senior Director, Hardware has direct oversight for teams in our engineering, product management, design and deployment, and testing organizations.
This position plays a key leadership role within our high-growth Solutions Group business unit, a growth business within the Avery Dennison portfolio that provides identification, supply chain, and labeling solutions within the food, logistics, and retail industries.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Developing and executing a multi-year hardware strategies that enable Solutions Group to deliver on our ambitious strategic plan
Leading efforts to develop sound multigenerational product roadmaps
Conducting regular business reviews to ensure that short-term targets are delivered and long-term strategic projects remain on track.
Collaborating with and influencing senior Avery Dennison leadership and other key stakeholders in delivering hardware strategies and key initiatives.
Working across our solutions to expand the scope of hardware, where applicable, to incorporate new technologies, processes, and supply chains. .
Developing and maintaining strategic working relationships with business partners within customers’ organizations and co-development and OEM partners
Acting as a broader leader within the PLM, Innovation and Sustainability organization to promote a culture of curiosity, execution, inclusion and diversity.
Accelerate and elevate the innovation capabilities and portfolio of hardware products to a differentiated solutions (hardware+software+sensors) set that drives exceptional value for clients in our target segments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required with a major in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related feel strongly preferred.
10+ years of experience in leadership roles in the hardware industry; deep wiring within the hardware industry.
Knowledge of the food, logistics, and / or retail industries strongly preferred
History of identifying hardware trends and market needs, developing innovative solutions, and successful commercialization.
Demonstrated track record of delivering commercial business results.
Previous experience leading a large, cross-functional team required
Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, ROI analysis and development of business plans.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute go to market strategies.
Previous experience in driving change in an organization.
Understanding of commercial models for digital solutions ( SaaS).
Curiosity and the willingness to challenge norms.
Strong influencing skills and the ability to champion projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.
Excellent interpersonal, written communications, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel on a regular basis.
Desired location is the greater Miamisburg, Ohio area. Remote work is acceptable.
