Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the . National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site’s Cold War legacy.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tools for analyzing signals from EM, RF, and seismo-acoustic sensors.
- Contribute to solutions of assignment-related problems and issues with a limited scope and of basic complexity, using a well-defined set of technologies.
Solutions use established basic standards, practices and procedures as well as technical knowledge to address problems and complete tasks.
Focus is on applying academic knowledge to the work environment and developing good work / team habits. Solutions may require evaluation of standards and processes.
- Support field programs and designs using pre-determined principles and practices.
- Contribute to designs, strategies, reports and technical proposals.
- Develop a working knowledge of codes and standards of other disciplines.
- Follow specific established engineering and technical procedures and instructions.
- May serve as a member of work teams.
- Assist in defining specifications for procurements and initiates purchase requests.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and
Technology (ABET) required for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees;Or, Calculus-based STEM bachelor’s degree in engineering;
Or, for Architects, Certification from the National Council or Architectural Registration Board
NCARB);Or Professional Engineer license
Skill building experience must demonstrate either deeper technical specialization or additional cross disciplinary knowledge.
Graduate research experience may be recognized.
- Proficiency with common compiled or interpreted scripting languages such C, C++ or Python is required.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques is required
- Experience with RF antenna design and / or data collection is preferred.
- Interest in and / or experience with advanced data analysis tools is preferred.
- Ability to interpret codes and standards applicable to the position.
- The primary work location will be at the Special Technologies Laboratory (STL) located in Santa Barbara, CA.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
