Primary Purpose of Position
The Executive Director of the Student Health Center provides visionary and strategic leadership for the health and wellbeing of the North Carolina Center University community.
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, quality health care for eligible individuals through the oversight of all services / activities in the Student Health Center : clinical care, nursing, medical records, pharmacy, laboratory, health education, administrative support services, and student insurance.
Maintaining a keen awareness of the changing healthcare environment and making recommendations to administration regarding changing organizational needs, staffing patterns, revenue sources, etc.
The Executive Director reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Student Health and Wellness and serves as a member of the Division of Student Affairs’ leadership team (SALT).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of federal and state laws, accrediting body’s regulations and standards, quality improvement and electronic medical records management required.
Demonstrated effectiveness in budgeting; staff supervision; facility operations; and strategic planning. Evidence of successful collaboration across University departments, involving students, faculty and staff as appropriate.
Minimum Education / Experience Master’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, nursing, or related field with aminimum of four years of full-time experience leading and managing ambulatory care facilities.
Experience in college health or working with young adults is preferred. Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation N / A
