We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Plymouth, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations for multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting and compliance. This position requires someone who is meticulous and capable of managing complex accounting tasks while providing guidance to team members.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including assets, liabilities, and equity, by analyzing and compiling account data.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Accounting Assistants, reviewing their work and addressing questions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements and year-end audit work papers in a timely manner.
• Handle sales tax filings and ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation.
• Oversee payables check runs and initiate bank transfers as required.
• Assist with the implementation of new systems or processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records by proactively analyzing data and recommending solutions.
• Act as a liaison between the Accounting department and other business units to support collaborative problem-solving.
• Maintain adherence to internal controls and accounting best practices to ensure financial security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in accounting with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close and general ledger activities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and office programs, along with strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inefficiencies.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
